Friends of Scouting

It is that time of year that we need to start working on Friends of Scouting.

All Units should verify their 2015 Friends of Scouting presentation date with Ron Tydings (410-608-4860 // email:Ronald.tydings@verizon.net) at least 1 week before the scheduled date to make sure your presenter is locked in.  It would be helpful, if you could give an estimate of adult attendees, as well.

Chesapeake District Award Nominations

Please consider nominating some of your fellow Chesapeake District Scouters for one of the following awards:

1.) District Award of Merit (2 awards can be given in 2015)

2.) District Spark Plug Award (Nominations are submitted and reviewed

3.) Unit "Unsung Hero" Award (Each unit can submit/award per unit
example one per each pack, one per each troop, one per each crew)

Electronic copies of the nomination forms can be found on the Chesapeake District webpage, which you can find at the links below. You can also pick up nomination forms at any District Roundtable. The awards will be presented at the District's Annual Recognition Picnic, which will be held in June 8th 2015 and at Zion United Church of Christ.

The Recognition Picnic is a great time for your Unit's committee to say "Thank you!!" to all of those volunteers who help make scouting happen in your Unit and the District. The dinner is also an ideal time to single out that special person in your Unit with the "Unsung Hero" or District Spark Plug Awards for all their hard work for your Unit or the District. Please refer to each nomination form for the requirements for each award.

All nominations are due to Rich Gambrill or Rick Brewster by Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Please forward your nomination forms to Rick Brewster by email at rbrewster86@comcast.net or by mail to the address listed below.
